Since the paper of P. Mazur and D. Bedeaux [(Physica 76, 235- 246 (1974)], now ten years old, there is a flux of papers concerning Faxén theorems. However the main idea of generalization of the original version of these theorems remain the same and, accordingly, also the limitation of these generalizations related to the type of linearization of the problem. In the present paper the derivation of Faxén theorems for an unsteady, non-uniform Stokes flow is based (as in the paper cited above) on Fourier transformation. However, in contrast to that paper, the concept of so called induced forces is not used. The results are, of course, the same. It is a question of taste which type of proof is simpler and more elegant.
